Confidentiality

All patients' records are confidential and governed by the Data Protection Act. In order to maintain confidentiality, laboratory test and x-ray results will only be given to patients themselves or to parents of minors, if appropriate.

All patients, whether under or over 16 years of age, are entitled to confidentiality by all members of the practice team. All consultations are strictly confidential.

At times other health advisors i.e. district nurses, health visitors, hospitals, NHS England (for audit purposes) may need access to information in your medical records and, as a training practice, the University of Manchester needs access to records in order to undertake annual assessment. In such circumstances the practice complies with the Data Protection Act.
